Landscape as Protagonist is a by-invitation symposium that will bring together around 20 people connected to the discipline of landscape. Together, with their diverse understanding and knowledge of plants and landscapes, the group will share and build knowledge on planted architecture.
Landscape architects, architects, gardeners, Indigenous knowledge-holders, horticulturalists, writers, researchers and artists, both local and visiting, have been invited to participate. The symposium will take place at Mueller Hall within the National Herbarium at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Melbourne Gardens.
We begin by implanting in the gardens with a meditation led by Jaye Carcary, followed by a day of discussions facilitated through a series of presentations, chaired conversations and a meandering walk and talk through the gardens.
A day long program by Molonglo as part of Melbourne Design Week 2019, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
